Josh VanMeter and Pavin Smith homered, and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies 11-5 in Phoenix to sweep a doubleheader on Friday night.
David Peralta and Tim Locastro had three hits each and Stephen Vogt and Jon Jay had two apiece for Arizona (24-34), which has won four in a row.
Ryan McMahon had two hits, including a home run, and Kevin Pillar had three hits and three RBIs for Colorado (25-33).
After the Rockies took a 1-0 lead on Trevor Story's RBI single in the top of the first, the Diamondbacks jumped on starter Antonio Santos.
Arizona loaded the bases on Locastro's single, a hit batter and another single from Christian Walker. Peralta drove in two with a single to center field, and Santos loaded the bases again with a walk to Smith.
A groundout scored Walker, Vogt's single made it 4-1, and following a walk and a strikeout, Locastro hit a two-run single to put the Diamondbacks up 6-1 and chase Santos.
Santos (0-1) allowed six runs on five hits and walked two in just two-thirds of an inning. His ERA nearly doubled, from 8.44 to 16.50.
Colorado responded in the second when McMahon doubled, two walks loaded the bases, and Pillar cleared the bases with a double to left to make it 6-4.
Taylor Clarke (3-0) settled down after that to go five innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out five.
Arizona got those runs back in the third off of reliever Jeff Hoffman. With one out, Jay singled, Locastro was hit by a pitch and VanMeter homered to right to make it 9-4. It was his second of the season.
The Diamondbacks tacked on another run in the fourth when they loaded the bases against Jesus Tinoco, and a wild pitch allowed Wyatt Mathisen to score.
Smith made it a seven-run lead in the fifth inning with his first career home run, and McMahon's eighth homer of the season came on the first pitch of the sixth inning.
