The New England Patriots are placing running back Sony Michel, guard Shaq Mason and defensive end Derek Rivers on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, ESPN reported Saturday.
Center James Ferentz was added to the list on Friday, when the Patriots briefly shut down their facilities.
There was no immediate word on whether the latest developments would affect New England's home game on Sunday against the Denver Broncos, a game previously postponed due to COVID-19 complications. However, as of late Saturday afternoon, a league spokesman told multiple reporters that the game was still on.
The Reserve/COVID-19 list was created for players who either test positive for the coronavirus or who have been in close contact with an infected person.
Michel, 25, rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown in three games before landing on injured reserve with a quad injury. The 2018 first-round pick ran for more than 900 yards in each of his first two seasons.
Mason, 27, missed New England's last game on Oct. 5 at Kansas City with a calf injury. He has started 73 of his 78 games since the Patriots drafted him in the fourth round in 2015.
Rivers, 26, has three tackles and 1.5 sacks in four games this season. A third-rounder in the 2017 draft, he has five tackles and 2.5 sacks in 10 career games.
Ferentz, 31, made his 2020 debut in Week 4 against the Chiefs. He is in his third season with the Patriots following two seasons with Denver (2015-16) and one with Houston (2014).
