William Karlsson scored a pair of goals -- including the game winner 3:23 into overtime -- and the Vegas Golden Knights pulled off a 3-2 victory over the host Anaheim Ducks on Saturday.
Alex Pietrangelo added a goal and an assist as Vegas recovered from a sluggish start after not playing since finishing off a four-game series against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday.
Rickard Rakell had a goal and an assist for the Ducks, Adam Henrique added a goal and Cam Fowler had an assist in his 700th career game. Kevin Shattenkirk, in his first year with the Ducks, also played in his 700th career game.
Anaheim is now winless over its last six games, going 0-5-1 over that stretch.
Karlsson's game-winner, his fifth goal of the season, came on a length-of-the ice rush during a frenetic overtime when the Ducks failed to convert on multiple chances in front of the Vegas goal.
Without a victory since Feb. 11 at Vegas, the Ducks jumped out to a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the game when Rakell took a pass from Fowler and scored from the left face-off circle and past Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.
Rakell's second of the season came on Fowler's team-leading eighth assist.
Pietrangelo tied the game 1-all at 16:29 of the first period when he ripped a shot through a small opening into the upper right of the goal and past Anaheim goaltender John Gibson, who was screened by traffic in front of the net. It was Pietrangelo's second of the season.
Karlsson's initial goal came at 9:10 of the second period after a long pass down the middle of the ice from Pietrangelo. Karlsson found himself just ahead of three Ducks players and chipped an off-balance shot over Gibson's left shoulder.
Henrique tied it with 8:55 remaining when he jammed the puck past Fleury after Rakell knocked it out of the air in front of the Vegas goal. The Golden Knights requested a review for a potential high stick on Rakell but it was not successful.
Fleury made 28 saves in the Golden Knights' victory, while Gibson had 24 saves for the Ducks.
