Needing help with better community planning and budget reporting, the City of Anacortes, WA, launched a government budgeting software partnership with OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud software for our nation's cities.
Located on Washington's northern coast, Anacortes is known for its scenic views and ferry system that connects several islands in Puget Sound. Thanks to its many amenities, the City has experienced significant and steady growth in recent years. This growth has led to the need for better management of the City's Capital Improvement Plan process and improved budget transparency with residents. The City will meet those needs and more with OpenGov Budgeting & Planning.
OpenGov Budgeting & Planning will be an important strategic capital planning tool for staff. With its use, officials can align CIP plans with other budgets to get a bird's-eye view of capital project spending and how it impacts the community. This streamlined CIP process will help improve strategic outcomes. Data from CIP and all budgets will flow into a visual dashboard that can be customized to fit the needs of internal stakeholders as well as the public. Staff will have the ability to present complex budgets in an easy-to-understand format to better inform residents and heighten transparency.
The City of Anacortes joins more than 1,100 public sector organizations leveraging OpenGov to revolutionize work processes with cloud-based software designed specifically for the needs of government.
