LANGLEY, Virginia: The CIA has offered buyouts to all its employees to align with U.S. President Donald Trump's priorities, according to two sources.
A CIA spokesperson said the move was part of a plan by the new CIA Director, John Ratcliffe, to make the agency more responsive to national security goals.
The CIA does not share details about its budget or staff and did not immediately comment. The Wall Street Journal first reported the news.
This follows the Trump administration's efforts to reshape the U.S. government by reducing the number of federal workers and replacing them with loyal supporters. Last week, the White House gave two million federal workers the option to leave their jobs while still receiving pay and benefits until September 30.
This week, government employee unions sued to stop the administration's buyout plan.
Ratcliffe, a former congressman and Director of National Intelligence during Trump's first term, was confirmed as CIA director shortly after Trump started his second term.
