WASHINGTON, D.C.: NASA is preparing for a significant workforce shift as roughly 20 percent of its employees are set to depart the agency, a spokesperson confirmed.
Approximately 3,870 individuals are expected to leave, reducing NASA's workforce to about 14,000. However, the spokesperson added that this figure may change in the coming days or weeks.
The agency did not specify the reasons behind the departures, whether they are part of voluntary retirement, attrition, restructuring, or broader workforce transitions. No details were provided about which departments or missions might be affected.
