Mike Trout hit his 400th career home run to help the Los Angeles Angels break their eight-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over the host Colorado Rockies Saturday.
The eighth-inning blast was Trout's 22nd on the season. He became the 59th player in major league history to hit 400 home runs.
Trout, who has played his whole career with the Angels, has 200 home runs at home and 200 on the road.
Trout has hit 40-plus home runs in three seasons and 30-plus in four other seasons.
An 11-time All-Star, he has 1,013 career RBIs with a high of 111 in 2014.
Taylor Ward and Nolan Schanuel also hit solo home runs for the Angels (70-85).
Trout's milestone overshadowed a stellar effort from Los Angeles starter Kyle Hendricks (8-10).
The veteran right-hander threw seven shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks. He struck out five over 85 pitches in his 300th career start.
Luis Garcis pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save.
German Marquez (3-15), making possibly his last start at Coors Field after 10 years with the Rockies (42-113), took the loss.
The right-hander went seven innings, giving up four hits and two earned runs. He struck out five and walked one on 84 pitches.
The Rockies managed just three singles in the first six innings.
Jordan Beck singled in the second and stole second base, but he ended up being doubled off third when Brenton Doyle popped to end the Rockies' only real threat.
The Angels also only had three hits through the first six innings, but thanks to Ward and Schanuel they both ended up in the stands.
Ward's home run was his career-high 34th and he also has a career-high 101 RBIs.
Logan O'Hoppe also had a solid night at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a single and a double.
