The Denver Broncos elevated tight end Marcedes Lewis to the active roster for Sunday's matchup against the Houston Texans.
Lewis, 41, is set to become the oldest tight end to play a game in NFL history. He would also become the oldest player in Broncos' franchise history.
The veteran has appeared in 285 career games, recording 437 receptions for 5,115 yards and 40 touchdowns. Throughout his career, Lewis has been lauded for his blocking ability.
'He's a tremendous blocker,' Broncos head coach Sean Payton said. 'I'm glad he's here.'
Lewis played 12 seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars (2006-2017). Then, he had a five-year stint with the Green Bay Packers (2018-2022), where he played alongside Aaron Rodgers.
He spent the last two seasons as a member of the Chicago Bears.
