Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon will miss more than a month with a right hamstring strain, the team announced Sunday.
He will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks with what ESPN reported is a Grade 2 hamstring strain.
Gordon is third on the team in scoring, averaging a career-high 18.8 points per game, and is shooting a career-best 44.4% from 3-point territory.
The 30-year-old played just three minutes Friday night in Denver's 112-109 win over the Houston Rockets. In 13 games this season, he also is averaging 5.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists for the Nuggets, who have the second-best record in the Western Conference at 12-4.
He is in his 12th NBA season after being picked fourth overall by the Orlando Magic in 2014. He was traded to Denver halfway through the 2020-21 season.
Gordon has played 733 career games (635 starts) with averages of 13.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
His is the second longer-term injury to a key player for the Nuggets.
