Connor McDavid scored a tiebreaking goal midway through the third period and added an assist, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored twice and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Colorado Avalanche 4-3 in Denver on Tuesday.
Jack Roslovic had a goal, Evan Bouchard and Leon Draisaitl had two assists each and Tristan Jarry made 11 saves in relief of Connor Ingram for Edmonton.
Ingram was injured in a collision with Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon late in the second period. MacKinnon was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct after skating into Ingram, who sustained a cut on his forehead.
Ingram stopped 15 shots before exiting.
McDavid netted the game-winner at 9:03 of the third when he finished a give-and-go with Draisaitl.
Ross Colton, Valeri Nichushkin and Martin Necas scored and Mackenzie Blackwood turned away 20 shots for the Avalanche, who had their five-game winning streak snapped.
Colton sat out the third period because of an upper-body injury.
Edmonton played most of the game without center Colton Dach and defenseman Ty Emberson due to undisclosed injuries.
Colton gave Colorado a 1-0 lead just 32 seconds in with a shot from the top of the zone. The Oilers tied it with a power-play goal by Nugent-Hopkins at 8:13 of the first period.
The Avalanche answered on their first power-play opportunity when Necas beat Ingram at 15:41. It was his career-high 29th goal of the season.
Edmonton tied it again when Roslovic scored at 19:35 of the first.
Nugent-Hopkins gave the Oilers the lead with his second goal of the game when he tipped a centering pass by Darnell Nurse at 4:15 of the second.
Edmonton had a power play for nearly four minutes at the end of the second and start of the third due to MacKinnon's major penalty but couldn't cash in. That allowed Nichushkin to tie the game when he tipped Sam Malinski's shot by Jarry at 7:04 of the third.
Blackwood came off for an extra skater late in the game, but Colorado couldn't score.
