DUBAI, U.A.E.: Iran's state TV said that Tehran has received an early, unofficial draft of a possible agreement with the United States to end their conflict.
According to the draft, Iran would bring commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz back to normal levels within a month. In return, the United States would remove its military forces from near Iran and lift its naval blockade.
The report said the plan does not include military ships and suggests that Iran would manage ship traffic in the strait together with Oman. However, the deal is not final yet, and Iran said it will not take any action until there is clear proof and confirmation.
It also said that if a final agreement is reached within 60 days, it could be approved by the United Nations Security Council and become legally binding.
The possible agreement stems from indirect talks that began after the war started in February, with Pakistan serving as a key mediator between Iran and the United States.
The war started after tensions between Iran and Israel sharply increased earlier this year. Both sides carried out missile and drone attacks, which disrupted shipping in the Middle East and led to U.S. military involvement, raising fears of a wider conflict in the region.
